Christiana Care Delaware Marathon

I had the pleasure of handing out medals to some amazing runners at the Christiana Care Delaware Marathon. I joined forces with some lovely ladies and fellow delegates Ellen England - Mrs. Pike Creek US 2010, Jessy Long - Mrs Newark, US 2010 and Catherine Simon - Mrs. Mid-State US 2010.

Despite a rainy morning, we had a great time celebrating one victory after another as the racers crossed through the finish line. Although we were cold and wet, it was worth it to be able to cheer the runners on and offer them congratulations at the finish line!

The race benefits The Center for Heart & Vascular Health at Christiana Care which provides the multidisciplinary capability for the prevention, treatment and improved understanding through research and education of cardiovascular diseases on behalf of all people in this community. It was especially important for me to be there.... I work for Christiana Care's Center for Heart and Vascular Health in the Cardiac Research department and my platform is Women's Heart Health.

The 2009 Mr DE "Mangeant"

On April 11, 2009 I attended the 2009 Mr DE pageant with Catherine (Mrs Central Delaware, US), Maureen (Mrs Kent County, US), and Siouxzan (Illinois 30's Beauties). This was one of the most entertaining nights I have had in a very long time. These guys were such great sports and were absolutely hysterical....and this was a true networking experience as we were able to meet many other Miss Teen, Miss, and Mrs contestants. A huge thank you to Chris Saltalamacchio for putting on such a fun and exciting show!

I had many family and friends who attended the pageant to support me. Many of my coworkers were there, and even some friends from high school and college (they were the loud ones). Also there to cheer me on were my Aunt Jean and Uncle Bob, my 97 year old Grammy, the best mom ever Janice, my youngest son DJ (who was my biggest fan), and the most supportive husband in the world...Adam.

I also had the pleasure of meeting and becoming friends with Mr DE 2008, Chris S.

Mrs Delaware 2009 pageant

On March 15th I competed in the Mrs Delaware 2009 pageant at the Baby Grand, Grand Opera House in Wilmington, Delaware. I had a wonderful time and made some truly fabulous pageant friends. I obviously had no idea what i was doing, or some of the "pageant rules", but I'm learning. Two of the beautiful women that shared a dressing room with me won titles....Maureen won 2nd runner up and Marci won the title of Mrs Delaware, United States 2009... Congratulations ladies. Everyone hears horror stories of cattiness backstage, but that was not my experience at all. These were the nicest, most generous women in Delaware....and everyone helped everyone else.

I had such a wonderful time, that i am planning to compete again in the coming year....so I am Currently Mrs Christiana, US 2009 and Mrs Christiana, US 2010.
